About Us

Before there was Trinity United Methodist Church, a group of Methodist were worshiping at Second Methodist Church on 17th Street in Corbin, Kentucky.  In 1962, the congregation had experienced some growth and were looking for a place to build a new church.  At the same time, the United Church of Christ had recently built a new church on the corner of Kentucky Avenue and 11th Street in Corbin.  In early 1963, a discussion occurred between the two congregations and a merger between the congregations occurred with the agreed upon name being Trinity Methodist Church.  In 1968, the Evangelical United Brethren and Methodist Church merged at General Conference, establishing the United Methodist Church (U.M.C.).  At that point, Trinity Methodist Church became Trinity United Methodist Church.  Below are a list of the different pastors who have served over the years at Trinity U.M.C.

Today Trinity U.M.C. is a vibrant church offering a traditional worship style on Sundays at 11 a.m.  In our congregation, you will find all ages represented.  Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. offers classes for all ages.  Sunday evening services (6:30 p.m.) are much more informal and offer a time of conversation, bible study, and worship.  Our Wednesday night programing includes activities for all ages.  A fellowship meal begins our evening at 5:30 p.m. followed by children/youth programs in the youth house and an adult bible study time both beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Our recently updated mission highlights who we are as a body "The Trinity U.M.C. fellowship strives to Glorify God in everything we do, Gather those who are searching, Give in times of need, and Grow each one in Christ.
